Beautiful work above...I especially love the one with the gradient striping. Best of success with your new side hustle...the woodworker tents are always among my favorite stops at crafts fairs.

That one might still be for sale if you need a cutting board that will outlast three or for generations of Clintons. 🙂

Trust me, I would do it in a heartbeat, but my wife is the cook around here and she's a diehard hard-plastic cutting board fan and user. Blasphemy, I know. :-/

I get it - plastic is easier in some aspects, but doesn't last nearly as long (and a bacteria magnet).
Maybe one day she'll see the light . . .

Looks like an animal skull - something out of Lovecraft maybe?

She maintains that the hard plastic ones can be thrown in the dishwasher to be washed and sanitized, but the wood collects and holds bacteria easier and longer (and is more prone to staining), since it's porous and can only be handwashed. If that's not actually factually correct, maybe there's a sliver of light in her argument that I can try to exploit. 😉

This topic does come up and there's always a conflicting study it seems.
I bought some "nice" plastic ones that I've thrown in the dishwasher thinking I can sanitize them this way. I'm also aware that they're not flat anymore and they are definitely scarred (not as bad as the only bowl my MIL uses!) and I worry about plastics getting into food.
Even when bacteria gets into wood, they starve and die out so quickly, it's not a concern for me.
