I remember this being a fun thread over on CD's forums, and thought we should have one here as well.
Hopefully someone will have a cool new purchase to showoff - I've got nothing at the moment.
My latest book is The Spite House but Johnny Compton. New author for me:
I received the ARC last year.
I don't have anything terribly exciting to report, but I did use my CC points to pick up Peter Bagge's THE COMPLETE HATE, VOL. 3.
I've loved HATE since I first discovered it in the mid-90s, and it's so great to be able to finally fill in the gaps of all of my missed issues. I don't think any book has ever made me laugh so hard for so long. These collections have really helped me deal with an extraordinarily difficult and stressful year to date.
The Beaumont arrived a week or two ago, the Bloch yesterday.
I bought some new wood today! 🙂
Black Walnut, Hard Maple, Red Elm, and some Cherry.

I wish you lived nearby, so my step-dad would have someone to talk about wood with...
I do need a friend for that! Ha!
Posted elsewhere, but my uncle was a woodworker. Something I didn't know until a few years ago when we reconnected (I headed out to California for my mom's informal memorial and we stopped and visited my Aunt and Uncle for a bit, plus the entire time we were out for my mom) and that's when I learned he was a woodworker. I'm not sure if it was something he always did, or picked up since he had retired.
Couple of weeks ago I sent my Aunt a cutting board I had made and told her that I was really trying to do a good job on a different project just so I could share it with my Uncle. While I may have missed out on that, I know from my cousin that he watched my Instagram posts and was following along with my woodworking journey and was proud of what I had done so far.

My late father-in-law worked with wood, and made us a box in black walnut…that’s a beautiful wood.
