I began replacing and standardizing my bookcases a couple of years ago. In larger areas I went with Billy Bookcases with a glass shelf on top, lighting and glass doors. This is 3 of the 4 bookcases in my living room. This replaced a massive media center with DVD, CD's and VHS tapes. Most of which I got rid of. A small percentage remain in the center section here.
I have scaled back by book purchases. I receive everything Lividian does very my Patreon subscription and I still purchase from Suntup.
The left case is my Lividian collection with the display shelf having sports books and trinkets. The Right shelf features a Beatles display on the display shelf and Suntup Artist editions. With Lividian ramping up their production schedule I am formulating a plan to move the Suntup Artist editions and making the right case the Lividian King, Joe Hill and The Robert McCammon library. The center case has some signed sports memorabilia, CD's and DVD's.

My quick count, which may be off is 30 Limited editions delivered, 17 Chapbooks delivered, 5 private printings. With the Patreon membership I also receive an ARC for each limited and trade and received lettered for a few of the private printings, but I believe he is no longer producing lettered for those. Also the private printing Lividians are in another room with my other Brian James Freeman books. When I move the Suntup books I will bring those out to join these.Never realized (it's obvious now) just how many books Lividian has put out!

@fanatic A library would be awesome! At this point I have bookcases in every room that does not have running water. I have one room that is a home office and when I retire (less than 2 years) I plan to remove the 12 foot desk and add more bookcases and a reading chair. At this point I have 25 bookcases with space for 3 more without removing the desk so I need to reduce purchases and get rid of a bunch of books. I have been successful at reducing purchases but culling the current books has not yet begun.

The house has what the builder called 'art' shelves in several rooms. The master bedroom was converted to hold my king trade editions. They continue below and most, but not all are 1st/1st. Sorry for the distortion but I used panoramic as the two cases are over 14 feet long.

I was also glad to see the center Billy included DVDs and CDs. I've had a plan in mind over the last two years to turn a small walk-in closet into a DVD/Blu-Ray library using Billy bookcases, but I wasn't sure how they would look. Now I do and I'm more sold on it than ever. Thanks!

I have two cases with the extenders and really like them. Using the Billy cases for DVD's works great. You do need to buy an extra shelf if you don't want gaps. Not real practical but I have another row behind the front row so is double the visible capacity.Nice cases! Here is the top half of the cases with the extensions which add one more shelf and require additional doors. This is the only wall with bookcases that lends well with the added height.

What a great collection you have. Thanks for sharing.
I wish you the best in culling the collection. I've slowly been parting with readers, PBs, and books that I no longer care for. It's tough.
Next up for me would be trying to sell some of my standard stuff from CD and some odds and ends.

@benstaad This week I actually looked at a bunch of CD paperbacks, ARCs and limited editions that I am thinking about taking to Powell's for trade. Most are either duplicate or books I will probably not read again.

Go for it and wish you luck. It was tough for me letting go of things at first. But when I started it actually felt pretty good. Having a large brick and mortar to interact with is pretty cool.
We have a small independent bookstore which I've thought about engaging with. I am hopeful they may be interested in doing a consignment type of display for a chunk of my gift/LE's which are on the low end of the collectable scale. I really don't like selling on Ebay but did have some positive experiences with FB groups and in particular some specific buyers.

I am very fortunate to live near Powell's. They pay a little more if you are willing to take store credit rather than cash, which is not a problem for me. Although it is still less than I would get from a private sale but as I do not exist on social media and selling on eBay does not interest me, it works for me. Quick, easy and hassle free.
