Figured I'd add a thread for this relatively new press. I'm still eyeing their slipcased edition of Ramsey's Campbell's Cold Print.
I've also been reviewing some of the prices for their books--and for Nepenthe as well--on the aftermarket and they seem to be rather elevated. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Are the production values that good to warrant the pretty big jump in price I see on the Ligotti titles? There is a lettered Dark Gods for sale on eBay that looks very nice, as well.

I ordered The Agonizing Resurrection of Victor Frankenstein, and Other Gothic Tales from them back in January of 2025. If I remember right, there were a few different versions available and I grabbed the middle of the road version for $105. Book seemed decent - reminded me of SubPress's books actually. It was smaller (size and length) than I expected but didn't seem outrageously expensive or subpar quality.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm kicking myself a bit for not picking up the Ligotti titles when originally offered. I think Sub Press still has copies of the slipcased edition of My Work Here is Not Yet Done, which I'm eyeing. I think I passed on the Ligottis because I thought I'd heard Centipede was going to be doing new editions of a few of his books. I could be misremembering this, so don't take this as gospel.
I will say that I'm not a huge fan of Chiroptera's website. I'm sure it makes it easy to only list the books currently available, but from a collector's point of view, it's rather frustrating not having the old pages still available to see the different editions of the books they've published and their original price points.

Well, I've been keeping my eye on that slipcased edition of Cold Print with the order page showing 27 copies left with only one being sold while I've been debating the purchase over the last week or so. And as is my luck, I went to the site yesterday to finally get off that fence and order a copy and it is now sold out...
It could be that there was a rush on the title for some reason, but most likely Chiroptera's stock counter isn't very accurate. I say this only because they went from having 13 copies of the lettered edition one day and zero the next, which seems unlikely to me.

In case anybody missed it, in their newsletter yesterday Chiroptera stated they'll be publishing a limited edition of Laird Barron's work titled Broadsword: Selected Early Works. I don't have a lot of experience with Barron's fiction--I just started The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All yesterday and have only read "Blackwood's Baby," which I enjoyed--but I figured there might be fans on the forum. No firm date for the preorder, just over the "next couple of months."

I'm in the distinct minority, but I haven't really been able to get into Barron's work. I read his Borderlands "Little Book", and a bunch of short stories in various collections, and something about his style just doesn't click with me.

I pretty much have had the same experience with Barron.
I read his first short story collection, The Imago Sequence(?), which I thought was OK. Then I read his short novel from Infernal Press (can't recall the title), which, for me, some parts worked and some parts didn't (the whole cage fighting angle of the story just felt off).
After that, I tried his short story collection Swift to Chase, which I DNF after a couple of stories.
He's an author that I should like, but, for the most part his work just doesn't click for me, though I have to admit I am somewhat intrigued by the omnibus collection that Midworld has announced of his crime fiction.

In their newsletter last week or so ago, Chiroptera included a note they had found some "odds and ends," including a full set of their Collected Lovecraft titles, on put them up for sale on their website. I got email late, so I missed out on the Lovecraft set, though I'd probably would've have passed depending on price, but I did manage to grab a copy of Nightlands Volume 1. Essentially, a hardcover omnibus of the three issues of their Nightlands magazine that, to my understanding, ran for three issues and was included with various books they sold.
Since Volume 2 is on the horizon later this month, I figured I'd give this one a shot. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but it's a pretty nice clothbound hardcover. Maybe a little pricey at $80. I will say, though, that the crew at Chiroptera were on it because my book was shipped the same day!

How is Nightlands volume 1? I was thinking of picking up the paperback and was curious if it’s worth it.
I’m also intrigued by the C.M. Eddy Jr. collection. Not familiar with his work but it looks interesting.

Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to crack it open yet. It's near the top of my TBR pile, so I'll post my thoughts hopefully sooner rather than later. I know that doesn't help much, sorry.
As for the C.M. Eddy Jr. collection, I wound up passing on it. I don't know enough about the author to gamble the cost, especially after taking a bit hit on the budget due to the new Abercrombie title from Sub Press and Nightlands Volume 2 on the horizon. I'm hoping maybe I can circle back around to it and grab a copy at some point, but the asking prices for some of these Chiroptera titles on the aftermarket are kinda brutal.

I've read several stories by Eddy, including the infamous "The Loved Dead", which I think I recall he wrote with Lovecraft (or bounced it off him for feedback...? Something like that), and he seems fine. I've intentionally tried over the last few years to get away from pulp-reprint fiction, save for the new Centipede Weird Tales decades series. I had a dozen-plus pulp-reprint anthologies at one time, plus a bunch of single-author reprint collections, etc., but at some point I just burnt out on the whole pulp thing. In hopes of continuing to focus and hone my collection to at least some small degree, I'm trying to stay away from the pulp-reprint scene and not let that (still glowing) ember of interest reignite...so while I would've picked up that Chiroptera collection a decade ago, I'm going to (I think, I hope) skip it now.

I get the burning out on particular subgenre and the desire to "focus and hone," as you put it, one's collection to something more fully curated. Addition by subtraction and all that. I've gone on one of my semi-periodic musings about my own collection's focus. I'm constantly battling FOMO, it seems like, and so my collection gets pulled in a myriad of directions. I have cut back on my purchases--I'm pretty much only regularly buying from Centipede--as I reconsider things.
