I took advantage of the 50% Off Sale at Taschen over the weekend and picked up a couple titles that I've wanted for a year or two, but could never pull the trigger at $200 a pop.

I snagged a copy each of THE FANTASTIC WORLDS OF FRANK FRAZETTA and THE HISTORY OF EC COMICS. Both nearly 16" tall and 500'ish pages, glossy archival full-color pages, etc....at around 13 heavy pounds each, coffee table books capable of smashing any table to splinters. And Taschen even threw in free shipping. I believe they also come in illustrated cardboard traycases for protection, but I'm not certain about that. Very excited to finally have these soon in my hands!

Thanks, all.

Yeah, I've been coveting for quite some time as well, so at 50% off my years of thus far successful restraint vaporized. They even made it a it'd-be-ridiculous-NOT-to-buy-them thing when they even threw in free shipping for these enormously heavy books.

Those are awesome books @ronclinton !

I saw that Taschen had a sale, but I'm having to be mindful of my pennies recently. That Frazetta book though is gorgeous!

I just received my copy of the signed limited edition of 411 by Ray Garton, which completes my run of the Cemetery Dance novella line.

I started actively seeking these out 15 years or so ago.  I needed the first nine, before the print runs jumped from 450 to 750, as I got the later books directly through CD (or Camelot).

When I first started I never thought I would get a complete run, based on the secondary market prices for a couple of the books, namely The Wilds by Richard Laymon and Right to Life by Jack Ketchum.  But the recent downward trend in book prices worked to my favor in this regard.

Congrats on the finishing up the full run...that's always a satisfying feeling.

My copies of COFFIN MOON and CRONE -- the signed / #d deluxe HCs from Black Crow Books in the UK -- arrived today and look great. These'll be my first exposure to Keith Rosson's work, but I've heard good things about both books, especially CRONE, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the buzz is all about. I probably should've just picked up the trade editions for a first exposure, but I didn't want to love these books and have to handwring about then picking up these S/Ls, so I took a gamble. Hopefully it pays off.

Ugh. Good news for you, but I was digging around trying to find my copies to sell, lol. Probably not the best time. Glad you completed the series!
