This is my first exposure to Nat Cassidy's work, and I'm already a huge fan. I'm reading an ARC, which doesn't include the introduction by Stephen King, which is originally what drew my attention to this book...I mean, Stephen King doesn't seem to write a lot of introductions, so Cassidy must be something special. So far (A little over halfway through), he sure is.
The stories have all been very original, starting with the novella REST STOP, which finds a musician on a road trip trapped in a roadside convenience store with a serial killer. After that, we get a mysterious Elf on a Shelf, a businessman haunted by his dead wife, an unlucky young lady who meets a charming stranger in a bar, and an insane epistolary told through e-mail that just blew me away. They might not sound original, but Cassidy gives each one a little something extra that takes them into unexpected territory.
Highly recommended! Any other Cassidy readers out there?

Thanks for the snapshot review of this one...it's definitely on my radar to potentially grab when it comes out in a couple/few weeks. The only Cassidy book I've read is WHEN THE WOLF COMES HOME -- I haven't read MARY or NESTLINGS -- but I thought WOLF was great, a really enjoyable book, surprisingly so because, for me, buzzy indie/micro-press books like this rarely live up the to the hype when I give them a chance. But this one definitely did.
Thanks for the rec of WOLF, Ron, since I was eyeballing that for my next Cassidy read.
Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't heard of this author and now they are on my radar.
Curious to hear your thoughts if you end up giving the book a chance.
I finished this collection last night, and was really sad to see it end. Highly recommended!
Wolf Comes Home is very good. I didn't love all the story beats, but the writing was exceptional. Plus, Cassidy is a great guy which never hurts!
I loved Nat Cassidy's I KNOW A PLACE!!
