This past weekend I had to fly to California for my uncle's memorial. He passed away suddenly about a month ago. It's all good here.
I decided I wanted to bring an analog book with me instead of my Kindle, mainly in the case someone asked me "hey TD, what are you reading?"
A few of my book friends (hi Mother Horror!) were talking about Japanese Gothic (Kylie Lee Baker) a few months ago, and since that book was just dropped off, I decided I'd bring it.
First, I finished before my flight home, and it made me miss being able to read for hour+ chunks at a time.
I did enjoy it. It's a ghost story of sorts that takes place across time with a common element that connects the two separate story lines.
My only complaint is how salty the book was. 🙂 And by salty I mean I wish the author had other ways to describe blood and other elements. Maybe it was something I unfairly zeroed in on, but everything was just damn salty all of the time.
Not sure what my next book is going to be. I tried to pick one last night before bed, but I spent 30 minutes scrolling through my Kindle books and seeing what was on Libby and eventually just gave up and went to sleep.
