Randomness

I finally made the switch from Android to Apple. I've never used an Apple Phone, touched one, or held one before. But I had bought a new Moto G to replace an older one I had lost and I was inundated with notifications, bloatware, and all kinds of blocked settings by the carrier it was basically none functional to me. The freaking thing wouldn't ever stay turned off. It would turn itself back on in the middle of the night...

The replacement is a 2020 Apple IPhone SE. I've limited this thing, no Apple ID, no AI, not much going on with it other than the things I want. I'm required to have a smart phone for work although I have no idea why. 

I use it to call people, text people, and check my work email. Every great while I will use GPS. Other than that everything else I do is from my desk or laptops. 

Now get off my lawn or hand me another PBR.

Unless I missed a similar thread...This is the place to drop all of your random comments, questions, thoughts, or ramblings.

At my age I am starting to get very good at the ramble.

But does responding to a post about "random" automatically impose "order", therefore defeating the intended randomness?? 😀 😀 😀

a new Moto G

back when they made "dumb" phones, Motorola was one of the "kings" ... but from what I've seen as far as their handling of smartphones goes, I wouldn't touch 'em with a 10-foot pole, as the saying goes. They still make decent hardware, but their lack of software updates and (as you noted) tons of bloatware makes me stay as far away as I can. 

I've used Google Pixel phones for the last 5 or so years. It has the controls I want to minimize notifications and little to no bloatware. I'm not thrilled with their constant AI push but can avoid it for the most part.  

I have faith that we will self correct to ramblings, musings, and unfocused and random comments.
