I figured we should start a thread for this long-running series!
I have very happy because I snagged a copy of Kealan Patrick Burke's The Widows of Winding Gale off eBay a week or so ago at just under published price and it arrived in perfect condition today. I'm still wrapping up reading Langan's The Fisherman, but this might be the next read once I'm done.
Anyways, anybody care to share which is their favorite book in the Halloween series?

I'd probably go with THE HAUNTED FOREST TOUR by Jeff Strand and James Moore, just because of the sheer fun factor...reminds me a bit of Lansdale's first DRIVE-IN novel in its gonzo action. Honorable mentions go to BOYS IN THE VALLEY by P. Fracassi, MOTHERLESS CHILD by Glen Hirshberg, THEY SAY A GIRL DIED HERE ONCE by Sarah Pinborough, and Kealan's THE WIDOWS OF WINDING GALE that you mention. MIDAS might be in the Honorable Mentions list at some point, but I still have yet to read it. Honestly, Paul Miller's editorial acumen is typically spot on, so there are far, far more winners than not in the Halloween series.

I've had The Haunted Forest Tour on my shelf for a few years now, but haven't had a chance to check it out yet. My favorite Halloween series book so far was The Halloween Children. This book blew me away when I read it. I've been on the list for a lettered edition ever since. Hopefully, I can afford one when finally offered!

I have to get HAUNTED FOREST off of the shelf, too...it's been sitting there for too many Halloweens.

Looks like this year's Halloween book is OctoberTown by Mia Dalia and will be up for sale on Thursday. I was hoping to have her other Earthling book in hand and read before purchasing this title. However, I have a bad habit of pushing off buying these Halloween books and regretting it later on, so unless the synopsis doesn't sound like my jam at all, I have to pick one up. Might finally pull the trigger on a copy of A Different Darkness at the same time.

Preorders for OctoberTown started this morning. I was pretty sold on picking up the title even before reading the brief synopsis, but now that I have, I'm completely sold. Anyone else pick up a copy?

No, I've put a for-the-most-part moratorium on limited-edition books by new contemporary authors. I have too many unread books and too many books I'd like to buy (or upgrade), plus shelf space is tight, and so I have to draw a red line somewhere to balance those issues with a finite budget. I'm all for grabbing a $20 trade-edition book off Amazon to give a new author (to me) a shot, but the days of gambling $60 or more on a limited edition from an unfamiliar author are just about behind me...they gambles rarely seemed to work out anyway, to be honest (though it was exciting when they did, and I have heard that Mia Dalia is a solid writer).

@sock_monkey I hate to pass but I'm tightening up the wallet even a little more than normal. I hate to do it because I love Earthling and think they are fantastic.

I get it. Budgets are necessary and sometimes things just have to be passed on. Hopefully things loosen up a bit for you in the future!
