I caught SISU: ROAD TO REVENGE last night on Netflix. Aatami Korpi, "The man who refuses to die", returns for more blood-soaked payback, this time against the Soviets and the man who brutally killed his family (Stephen Lang).
After the end of WWII, Korpi crosses over into recently annexed Soviet territory, returning to his old home, which he plans to dismantle and transport back into Finland to rebuild and start over. The Russians have other ideas...
I loved the original SISU, at least until it became so over-the-top that it almost became a cartoon. ROAD TO REVENGE is also over-the-top, but not quite as excessive as the original. There were a lot of kills that had me cringing and yelling "Noooooo!", which made for a good time, and the gore effects were just crazy. This would be a really fun movie to watch with friends, if you happen to HAVE gore-loving sicko friends available, which I do not. I do have a son, who kept yelling down to me "Dad, what the hell are you WATCHING, lol?"
Even at a short 90 minutes, the film did feel a tad long...There's only so much crazy violence you can watch. But I did have a good enough time that I can recommend a trip down this road.

I saw it a month or two ago, and your review is spot on...great fun, though couldn't seem to decide if it wanted to be a gritty Tarantino-type spectacle or Bugs Bunny / Road Runner (as in that scene where he rides the rocket), and thus did feel a bit long. But still, it was a fun flick, and if they made another I'd be all over it.

I enjoyed the first one - forgot where I first one. It was another fun wild ride. Sometimes we all need movies like that. Not trying to be more than 90 minutes of fun.
Will definitely catch the second one for sure.
