Finally getting to my TBR after a summer of it gaining heavily. Starting off with The Fisherman. Must say its a heck of a good yarn so far
Having recently finished Black House, the Talisman sequel by Stephen King & Peter Straub, my eye caught "The Fisherman" and I immediately thought you were reading Black House too! 😀
Looking forward to hearing what you think of the book when you finish!
With my daughter in a casket and my wife in a cult, I went to see the skinheads.
Finished Whalefall by Daniel Kraus the other night, and have to say it was a mixed bag at best.
The recent Douglas Clegg conversation got me reminiscing, so I purchased his three novella collection (none of which I’ve read before), Coming of Age.
I’m about 30 pages into the first novella, Purity, which I am enjoying so far. Has a strong Lovecraft vibe to it.

Finished Purity by Douglas Clegg, which I really liked.
Usually I’m not big into psychology horror stories, but I enjoyed this quick read quite a bit.
Up next, probably starting Coffin Moon by Keith Rosson later tonight.

I polished off David Sedaris' THE LAND AND ITS PEOPLE in record time...I love his work.I needed a laugh, and Sedaris provided, in spades. Started Tananarive Due's BATTLE OF THE ROUND HOUSE novella, which I have high hopes for.
On the comic book front, I started ROM: THE ORIGINAL MARVEL YEARS OMNIBUS, VOL. 3, which is outstanding so far, definitely the best one of the trio. Sal Buscema's art is outstanding, and I've never seen Steve Ditko better than he was on Rom. Marvel really furnished him with an array of incredible inkers for this run.
Started and finished Philip Fracassi's THIRD RULE OF TIME TRAVEL over the last three days. While it was generally enjoyable and certainly compulsive reading -- as Fracassi's fiction almost always is -- I wasn't as taken with it as some other Fracassi fans. In fact, it may be my least favorite of his full-length novels that I've read (which is all of them, save for GOTHIC, which I still need to get to). I won't get into why, as I don't want to potentially color the experience for those who haven't read it, but it wouldn't be the book I'd recommend to those new to Fracassi. Looking forward to diving into GOTHIC one of these days soon.

I enjoyed it. I did notice that you had to pay careful attention to catch some subtle clues about what was going on. Definitely a different feel from his other books like Boys In The Valley and A Child Alone With Strangers.

I didn’t have any issues or confusion r.e. the storyline, which was indeed pretty imaginative…the issues that made it, for me, lesser than his other works were more fundamental than that.
