I know zero about this author or book but I really like the artwork. I think it's striking.

@BenStaad also not familiar with the book or author, but I do like that artwork.

Artist is Joanna Barnum

My wife does one of those YA book box subscriptions, and while nice, the art is always the exactly same styling. I appreciate that this one is a different style.

Literally just finished this about 10 minutes ago.

I thought it was a very entertaining read.  Appalachian folk horror about a small clannish community in the Tennessee mountains and their cultish religion and the unusual way they worship their god.

Throw in a dash of creature feature, and two dashes of overall weirdness, and you get a pretty entertaining story.

Plus, Gregory knows how to write.  Good character development, excellent pacing; there’s no wasted verbiage in this story.  You’re fully immersed in the story from the first page to the last.

I was already intrigued by this title (I’ve been meaning to check out Gregory’s work for a while now), but your review makes it sound fantastic!

That being said, I’m still torn on Midworld’s edition.  $150 seems pretty pricey for what is included in the production.

That's one of the things that keeps me from being a Midworld customer, beyond the one or two I've bought. The cost-to-benefit ratio just isn't there for me and seems out of whack with the rest of the industry (which, admittedly, has seen a real price creep over the last decade), and I'm certainly not going to then take a gamble on an author I've never heard of with that ratio already in play.

Couldn’t have said it any better.
