[#110]

Will this title ever see the light of day? I fairly certain I first ordered this 15 years ago and cancelled 10 years ago.

I don't mean for this to be a "Bash CD" thread but I won't stop anyone from voicing their opinions here.

It has to be going on, if not over, 20 years now, since to my recollection, Shocklines closed down in 2005 or 2006, and this title was announced before Shocklines shutdown.

Kind of surprised at this point that they don’t just publish the trade edition and cancel the limited, as there has been a working TOC for almost the entire 20 years.

I proofread this book for CD close to two decades ago, and I have multiple ARCs that I received in various grab bags and CD promotions. I have no idea what the problem could possibly be, or should I say, could HAVE BEEN. I mean, at this point, I'm fairly convinced that CD is a very, VERY distant afterthought side gig for Mr. Chizmar. Their e-mail list has been turned into a daily "Get a free picture of Stephen King's hairy left nut if you send your receipt for fill-in-the-blank Chizmar book!!" spam machine. King maps, business cards, baseball cards, prints...doesn't King feel that his friend is kinda taking advantage of him by this point? There have been a few books recently announced that I would ordinarily be interested in, but I'd never give them another cent of pre-order money, especially since they've been less productive recently than I ever remember them being before.

The last entry for this on their production updates page ( https://www.cemeterydance.com/shocklines.html) was in May of 2025.

Shocklines: Fresh Voices in Terror edited by Richard Chizmar and Matt Schwartz:

The printer we selected is no longer in business and the sig sheets were returned. We are working to get production back underway. (5/15/2025)

And the book's page is still live on the CD site -  still available to order (trade hardcover) and  listed as "forthcoming"

Since I have this book among my endless old pre-orders, I would love to see them rebrand it as a "Whatever Anniversary Tribute to Shocklines"...Have an interview with Matt Schwartz about the store and the message board, maybe a few anecdotes and remembrances by fans and shoppers and authors...give a little added value to people who paid you for this decades ago.
