Ouch. Glad to hear you secured a copy but I'm sorry that it had a little bigger price tag. 

I ended up passing on this and I'm not sure why. I had a momentary, deer in the headlights, moment and just let this one sell out, as I watched.

Well found one at Bad Moon Books. Unfortunately with a jacked up price. But I bit anyways.  Always thought it was bad form on publishers to jack up prices from others. 

Ugh. I won't patronize a store that jacks up a price on a book that hasn't even been released yet, sold-out from the publisher or not. They can do whatever they want, certainly, but that turns me off immediately.

Just received Suntups Monkey's Paw. Wow I must say that it is impressive.  Scott Vile did a terrific print job and the woodblock printing has deep bite. Extremely happy I ended up buying this even with the market well worth it to me. And the paper," forget about it"

Retailers should not be jacking up the prices on books they're selling new. Bad Moon Books always does that, and he got really pissed at me when I called him out publicly about it on Facebook. He's getting the books from the publishers at a substantial discount, but then sells them for more than list, so he's making even more profit. I wish people would stop buying new books from him.

Books on the secondary market are different, though, again, some overcharge for them. But new, just-released stock from publishers that retailers get from the publisher should be sold at list until they're sold out.

 I remember a discussion about this from back in the day on the Shocklines message board, and I haven't bought from Bad Moon since then.

Gorgeous book and congrats to those that purchase it. 

The price point is beyond what I'm comfortable spending. I'm not complaining but it's just not for me.

Picked up the numbered edition. All 3 editions are pretty impressive.  Pretty quick sell out on those artist editions.

I passed on this month's book. I think this may be the first Artist edition I have skipped. Lovecraft is basically unreadable for me.

Just received the numbered Outlander. Outstanding production. Seems to me the quality of the books keeps improving which is no small feat. Haven't read the book not really in my wheelhouse but will give it a shot. 

Pretty excited to get this month's book. Amazing looking editions 

So very, very excited about September’s book announcement — Cormac McCarthy’s CHILD OF GOD, my third favorite work by him. I’ve been after a 1st HC of this one for some time, but tapped out a while back after finally acknowledging that it wasn’t going to happen for under a grand. Thrilled that the letterpress AE for a quarter of that $$$$ will be on my shelf soon. 

Anyone else grab a copy of The Star? Looks great and I am digging the art.

Anyone else grab a copy of The Star? Looks great and I am digging the art.

It looks cool, like all Suntup productions, but these short story editions aren’t quite my thing.

I do, however, love the clamshell Suntup is producing to put these in.  Brian is doing something similar at Lividian with the Story Box, and both of these ideas address a big issue I’ve had with collecting softcover chapbooks in the past. 

Received the numbered No Country for Old Men today. Pretty stunning edition
