Anyone else a customer of Grim Oak Press?

It's run by Shawn Speakman who is a fantasy author and also runs the Signed Page site. He's also the long time "web druid" for Terry Brooks.

Grim Oak is a Science Fiction & Fantasy small press, and puts out anthologies as well as trade editions, limited/lettered editions, etc. I've ordered mostly trade editions and anthologies, but just put in an order for a limited edition of Running With The Demon by Terry Brooks.

I've ordered a couple of books through them--The Warded Man by Peter V. Brett and Storm Front by Jim Butcher--but sold them off when I streamlined my collecting goals. From what I remember, I liked their quality. I'm just not a big fantasy reader, so a lot of their stuff isn't my jam. I do like that they have optional slipcases available for each of their titles.

I was very interested in this set when Grim Oak first announced it, but I already have the Cemetery Dance limiteds of the set (which I still haven't read...). Did you pick up Warrior as well? My understanding is that it is a precursor to Running with the Demon.

I've read Warrior but don't recall if I ever picked up a copy, or if it was included in another book i'd read. Warrior is a precursor to Running With The Demon, as is Imaginary Friends (set even earlier than Warrior). I've been a Terry Brooks fan ever since The Sword of Shannara was published in the late 1970s and a fantasy fan even longer (along with sci-fi & horror, of course)

The only one I've read is The Sword of Shannara and that was when I was around 11-12 years old and I remember loving it. I never got any further than that, though people swear by Elfstones and Wishsong.

The Sword of Shannara was good and established the background of the Four Lands. It also laid the foundation for the powers wielded by future generations of the Ohmsford family. I do think the world building and story telling both improved as the series continued.

Kinda wish I'd stuck with the Warded Man series.
