I thought this looked pretty cool. The thought of a signed trade kind of hits the sweet spot of the budget these days.
Scalzi's last couple of quirky/comedic-thriller SF novels have, for me, been uneven, but my optimism remains strong that this one'll be the one to turn it around. Guess I'll know in a month or so, when it hits the shelves.
I’m tempted by Sub Press’s announcement of Due’s THE REFORMATORY. As usual, though, the price tag is scaring me off. I will say that I read it this past summer and it’s a fantastic book. Think, Black Southern THE DEVIL’S BACKBONE. Writing this up has me itching again to grab a copy, but $225? So hard to swallow.
Same - I haven't read it but it sounded really good interesting and something I might like. But yeah, that $225 price tag was too much for a blind buy.
I'm off work today and will visiting some used bookstores so I'll keep my eyes open for it.

Has anyone been paying attention to DMR books, specifically their ongoing series of Definitive Editions of A. Merritt’s works? I've only read one of his works (The Dwellars In the Mirage) and I have a handful of old pbs on my shelf, but DMR's next title is The Fox Woman and Other Stories. I'm ordering it regardless, probably with their edition of Ramsey Campbell's Far Away and Never.
I know these aren't fine editions or highly collectible but especially with this collection it seems to be the only place to get some of Merritt’s works.
